How to enable audio recording in Livescrine penlets?

I'm developing a feature on a penlet which is recording the audio in sync with the written text. I have some documentation of Livescribe developing sdks but I can't find anything about this subject. The smartpen has a penlet "Play Session" that records audio but I want to do this in my own penlet because I need other data that "Play session" can't give. I know it will be hard to have an answer but I'm hopping someone knows how to do this. Thanks in advance. :)
