Is it possible to record audio(Without the red status bar) while the app is in background in iOS?

I think my question describes the whole thing. I am writing an app which records users voice while the app in in background mood. But while the app is in background, there is a red status bur of 40 pixel. How can i hide that status bar ? I don't want to show it.
