Develop an application that accesses a sound card's driver to mute it's inputs and outputs in C#

I am trying to develop an application in C# on windows that will mute a sound card's input and output channels. With NAudio http://ift.tt/A4SaOQ this is possible when using CoreAudio. The problem with it is, some external sound cards use drivers that do not send audio to the OS. It is routed inside the sound card itself and as such muting the channels has not actual effect on the sound card itself. NAudio also includes ASIO support which accesses the sound card directly but there is no way of enumerating a device's input and output channels or even muting them. Thank you
